BBW#8 finds us in the verdant valleys and rolling hills of Southern Germany as we enjoy the once ubiquitous Helles style of lager. Meaning bright or pale, Helles were generally replaced by pilsners as the preferred style of beer in Germany. We offer this classic yet oddly overlooked style  because you, Bellingham, are classic and were once overlooked…Ahh, remember those days. So, once again, congratulations Bellingham Beer Week−this long, strange trip lurches forward into Year Eight stronger than ever. And, Thank You, Washington Craft Beer Lover. “Stop trying to make everyone happy. You’re not Beer!”

Down & Dirty: Floor malted Pilsner, Carapils, Carafoam, and Acidulated malts with Northern Brewer hops.
ABV: 4.5%          IBU: 35
Color: Light straw
Aroma: Honey, floral, bread, sulfur
Flavor: Sweet with very light bitter, some citrus
