"Loumpia was founded by Lou in 2024 with the mission of bringing authentic, contemporary lumpia to Seattle while giving back to the Philippines. 5% of every sale supports providing medicine in Lou’s family’s hometown of Nueva Ecija.
After leaving a successful biotech career in 2023, Lou spent six months traveling through the Philippines, researching and tasting lumpia from the streets to the best lumpia restaurants in the world. The result of which resulted in development of 6 core lumpia Shanghai, Dynamite, Kikiam, Turon, Togue, Fried Sariwa (a family recipe), and Beef Lumpia (from Lou’s godmother). Lou’s background as a biochemist influenced the careful development of each recipe, ensuring the perfect balance of flavor and authenticity.
The name Loumpia is a playful nod to the founder’s name, Lou, and the Filipino dish lumpia. Loumpia combines tradition, creativity, and a commitment to community, offering delicious food while giving back."
